I really want to ride a brevet which is now fully booked. What can I do?
We delete brevet applications for which the fee has not been paid within 3 days. We advise you to regularly check the registration page, because after such deletions, for a (short) time the number of applications will not have reached the maximum and then you are able to make an application.
Is an event canceled if there is bad weather on the event day?
No, in principle an event is never canceled.
I start a 200K brevet after sunrise, and I'm absolutely sure that I can finish before sunset. Can I start without reflective gear?
No, everybody has to comply with the safety requirements (reflective vest & ankle band, at least 1 front lights & 2 rear lights) for night riding, also for the 200K brevet. No exception can be made.
Please let me know the exact rules of front and rear lights.
At least one headlight and two rear light need to be attached to the bike during inspection. It must be fully working during inspection.
If I arrive too late at the finish, can I still receive a certificate of completion?
Yes, you can. But it will not show that your ride was successful. If no staff is available at the finish, take a picture of yourself and both sides of your brevet card at the finish and send it by email, with the request to receive a certificate by mail.
If I find an injured rider while riding a brevet and help the rider and I fail to finish in time because of the delay, can I still qualify as a successful finisher?
Time allowance can be given in special cases, like above. But you MUST inform the staff about it at the moment of occurrence, not after finishing.
To become Super Randonneur, do I have to ride first a 200K brevet, then 300K, then 400K and then a 600K brevet?
No, you can first ride a longer distance and later a shorter distance, the sequence does not matter.
When I was an SR last year, does that qualify me for a 1000K or a 1200K brevet this year?
No, each year you have to obtain an SR status to qualify for a 1000K or 1200K brevet in the same year or an approved brevet of 1000K or more in the same or previous year. The brevets must have been sanctioned by ACP, the international parent organisation of Korea Randonneurs.
Can a longer brevet replace a shorter brevet to become SR? For instance, if I have successfully completed a 300K, another 300K, a 400K and a 600K, does that qualify for SR?
Yes. Only the 1200K Randonnee cannot replace a shorter brevet. A successful fleche can also not replace a 200K or a 300K.
